RMJM wins the round of competition of Russian design

RMJM has won an international competition for a new round of landmark vertical and park in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

The glass and steel construction, which includes 46000sq m of apartments and a five-star hotel, is designed to become the heart of a new art, culture and sports quarter of the city.

Running through the base of the building, the park offers vertical green areas for residents and the public and will be crowned by a sky park offers panoramic views.

Matt Cartwright, director of RMJM, said the Russian extreme weather often prohibits people who receive public open space, and added: "We have decided to do outdoors inside."

Yekaterinburg is the capital of the vast region of the Ural mountains on the edge of Siberia.
