Liverpool practice Falconer Chester Hall with drawings hotel Fab Four theme
Liverpool famous Cavern Club was demolished in the 1970s, but the Beatles influence on their lives in the adjacent site, where a five floor office building has been transformed into the hard day's Night Hotel Liverpool by Falconer Chester Hall. The customer is Bowden, a consortium of local businessmen.
Class II main building dates back to 1884, and features impressive marble and granite columns on the outside and balustrading as a grand staircase inside. Characteristics of the ladder is then covered with SHEETROCK and not re-discovered during the £ 20m conversion of the office to the 110-bed hotel.
Falconer Chester Hall has a lot of intuition to reconfigure the new building for its use. Wedding chapel and conference facilities are located in the basement while the ground floor has the BAR 4 bar, restaurant and bistro bar Blake.
The main challenges include the expansion of the building of two levels to create enough bedrooms and the addition of two new lifts. They were taken into account in the semi-circular staircase and space are the glass facade of view in order to maximize reception
For the two new plants, the architects have been unable to use conventional methods of construction for the roof level of burden due to the length of questions. Instead, they come with a wooden frame building clad in light pre-formed groups of zinc.
The reserves were so high that the client intends to add still harboring top of the building.
Interior Design by Design LSM includes a suite of John Lennon with white grand piano, and the theme of the Beatles, works of art by American artist Shannon.
"It seems a perfect hotel, as if it were always intended to be," said Stephen Kayll, senior technologist architectural Falconer Chester Hall. The practice is now working in other hotels in the city, including a 400-bed hotel next to Lime Street.
